The Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) bowlers action review
panel, which was formed in June this year, adjudged on Thursday (August
18) that five of the cricketers who were reported for suspected bowling
actions during the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) 2016, have been found to
be illegal.
Faisal Hossain, Mohammad Sharifullah,
Mustafizur Rahman, the offspinner, Amit Kumar and Asif Ahmed, who were
found out to have illegal bowling actions, however, can continue to play
first-class cricket up to November 15 this year.
The
committee, though, has categorically stated that they have to undertake
corrective measures and another assessment will be conducted on their
actions in November. The board is expected to pay for their expenses.
Meanwhile,
the actions of Moinul Islam, Naeem Islam Jnr, Sanjit Saha have been
deemed to be legal. Rezaul Karim, the slow left-arm orthodox bowler, has
been given the clean chit to bowl all deliveries, barring the slider.
On the other hand, Mohammad Saifuddin, the Chittagong Division's pacer,
has been asked not bowl the slower ball.
The review
panel, which came into existence this year, was given the task to
examine the suspected bowling actions of 10 bowlers.
