Tamim Iqbal is in a race against time for the upcoming home series
against England after he fractured his left hand during a training
session on Saturday. The left-handed batsman was sent for an x-ray on
Sunday (Sunday 28) that confirmed the injury, which will rule him out
for close to three weeks.
Bangladesh are likely to play
Afghanistan at home with the two boards already in talks for a bilateral
One-Day International (ODI) series in September before England arrive.
England's
tour of Bangladesh will go ahead as scheduled after an England and
Wales Cricket Board (ECB) delegation, led by security adviser Reg
Dickason, accompanied by director of cricket operations John Carr and
David Leatherdale of the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA)
cleared the tour after making their own security assessment.
England
are scheduled to play three ODIs and two Tests starting from October 7.
The matches will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in
Dhaka and at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
