Stuart Broad, the England fast bowler, injured his left ankle and is
all set to undergo a scan to assess the situation. Broad, who was
preparing to appear in County Championship for Nottinghamshire's next
fixture against Yorkshire on Tuesday (August 23), has now withdrawn his
name.
The lanky fast bowler turned up for Nottinghamshire
during their Natwest T20 Blast semifinal game against Northamptonshire.
He bowled only a couple of overs, gave away 18 runs and went wicketless.
The 30-year-old pacer contributed 11 with the bat towards the end which
was not enough to prevent a narrow eight-run defeat.
Broad
had been named in the Nottinghamshire side for the upcoming County
Championship games. However, the ankle injury has left question marks on
his participation.
Nottinghamshire are currently placed at the bottom of the points table, 14 points adrift of safety.
