Arjun Thyagarajan, Nisarg Patel, Usman Rafiq and Prashanth Nair are
the four new faces named in the United States of America squad for the
invitational game against a Caribbean Premier League Invitational XI at
the Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, Florida on Friday (July
29).
Tom Evans, ICC Americas high performance consultant,
revealed that the selectors wanted to analyse how some of the new faces
perform against quality opposition. "The 12 for tomorrow is a bit of a
combination," Evans said. "Twelve guys that we want to have a look at.
Some guys who have played a bit, some guys who haven't. Twelve guys who
we're keen to have a look at."
St Lucia Zouks and Barbados
Tridents have the highest representation in the CPL squad with three
players each. Australia's Alex Ross, who plays for the Tridents, is the
only player in the squad who isn't from the ICC Americas members.
Shamarh
Brooks will captain the team and the CPL international director of
cricket, Tom Moody has been named the coach. St Lucia's assistant coach
Trevor Penney will reprise the same role with the CPL XI on the night.
The match will be played ahead of Friday night's clash between St Kitts
& Nevis Patriots and Trinbago Knight Riders.
