Aaqib Javed, the former Pakistan fast bowler, has agreed to work with
the Bangladesh bowlers on a short coaching stint, the Bangladesh
Cricket Board (BCB) CEO, Nizamuddin Chowdhury told ESPNcricinfo
on Thursday (July 28). Javed will be present at the BCB's High
Performance Unit and will be coaching the fast bowlers from the high
performance squad and the national team as well.
The
43-year-old had earlier turned down BCB's offer to become the national
team's full-time bowling coach after having joined the Pakistan Super
League franchise Lahore Qalandars as their director of cricket
operations. At that time, he had hinted about taking up short-term roles
having already quit as the head coach of United Arab Emirates in April.
"He
will be arriving tomorrow, and stay for seven-ten days," Chowdhury
said. "He will be coaching fast bowlers from the high performance as
well as the national team."
