Trinbago Knight Riders were handed a blow on Wednesday (August
3) ahead of their playoff clash against St Lucia Zouks after opening
batsman William Perkins was suspended for the remainder of the 2016
Caribbean Premier League for handing his players access pass to an
external party.
Perkins admitted his fault after he was
found guilty of breaching the International Cricket Council's minimum
standards for players and clauses 10.1.1 and 10.1.2 of the player
contract. Richard Reynolds, ICC Anti-Corruption Manager, along with
members of the CPL security team, were able to obtain his player access
card which he had handed over.
The incident happened during
the Knight Riders' league clash against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on
Sunday (July 31) where he made 29 in his side's successful run chase.
Perkins has scored 75 runs in four matches this season.
