Eoin Morgan has revealed that no England player will be forced to
tour a particular country, ahead of the scheduled meeting with a
three-member panel on Thursday (August 25) that returned from the
subcontinent after inspecting the venues in Bangladesh and India.
The
panel will brief the squad about the current security situation in
Bangladesh after the players voiced concerns following a terrorist
attack in Dhaka in July. "I don't think anybody will ever be forced to
go on a particular tour," Morgan told BBC Radio 5 live.
"I think
it's important for us to get together as a group, and be informed by
people who we trust in order to make the right decisions and go from
there."
Following the five-match One-Day International series and
the one-off Twenty20 International against Pakistan at home, England are
scheduled to leave for Bangladesh on September 30 and play three ODIs
and two Tests.
The skipper has now backed the England and Wales
Cricket Board to take the right decision regarding the tour. "I'm pretty
open-minded," he said. "You can't really rule out anything until you
hear from the people that you trust. The ECB has made decisions over the
years that have held us in good stead. We've never been in any danger
before."
