Alex Hales, the England opener, has been fined 15 percent of his
match fee for showing dissent after being adjudged out caught by Yasir
Shah in the first innings on Day 1 of the fourth Test against Pakistan
at the Oval on Thursday (August 11).
According to an official
release issued by International Cricket Council (ICC), Hales went to the
third umpire's room and questioned the decision and also made some
inappropriate comments while walking away.
In the process,
Hales was found guilty of breaching Article 2.1.5 of the ICC Code of
Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to
"showing dissent at an umpire's decision during an international match."
Hales admitted the offence and accepted the sanction handed to him by match referee Richie Richardson.
