Sussex are in for a further delay in having Mustafizur Rahman feature
in the ongoing Natwest T20 Blast due to visa issues. The issue cropped
up owing to the festive period during which the required travel
documents couldn't be acquired.
The Bangladesh pacer was
scheduled to leave for England on Wednesday (July 13) and make his debut
against Hampshire two days later. He will now target making it on time
for the next game, against Essex, on July 21.
Sussex
have played the waiting game for a long time now, as Mustafizur had to
undergo a rehabilitation process after playing 16 fixtures for Sunrisers
Hyderabad, the winners of the Indian Premier League 2016.
The
English side had signed Sri Lankan pacer Nuwan Kulasekara as a
short-term replacement for Mustafizur, to play three T20 games - against
Kent, Middlesex and Glamorgan - the last of which took place last
Thursday (July 7). It remains to be seen if Kulasekara, who impressed
with a four-wicket haul against Glamorgan, gets an extension.
