Post a Yasir Shah rattling at Lord's in the first Test of the ongoing four-match series, England roped in Mushtaq into their set-up for the second Test to help Alastair Cook and Co. tackle spin, but with the experiment working, and a visit to the subcontinent due later this year, Bayliss was keen to extend Saqlain's stay.
The former offspinner, who has 208 Test wickets against his name, has previously worked in a similar capacity with West Indies and New Zealand.
"Both Mo (Moeen Ali) and Rash (Adil Rashid) enjoyed working with him very much. By the sound of it, it was very positive and we'll look to use him again," Bayliss voiced. "It wasn't necessarily a lot of technical coaching. I'm sure he mentioned one or two things - it was more tactical. That's where we think both Rash and Mo need to make improvements to go ahead in the international game."
Moeen, who was struggling for form with the ball for a while, managed to pick five wickets at Old Trafford but the England coach insisted that all-rounder needed to have more control over his bowling.
"He has put himself under a bit of pressure, I think. When you do that, it's difficult to bowl at this level. But he bowls wicket-taking balls. For me, he's got to work on his consistency to get the ball to bounce in the one spot a lot more often," Bayliss opined.
