After months of anticipation, Bangladesh's young pace sensation
Mustafizur Rahman is finally set to don Sussex colours, in the upcoming
T20 blast game against Essex in Chelmsford on July 21.
According to an ESPNCricinfo
report, Mustafizur received his UK visa on Tuesday and will immediately
fly to London on Wednesday (July 20). The English county side had
signed Mustafizur as their second overseas player - after New Zealand's
Ross Taylor - back in March.
Mustafizur played a
key role in Sunrisers Hyderabad's IPL-title winning season in 2016 and
needed rehabilitation for his hamstring and ankle injuries post the
tournament. On completion of that, Mustafizur was set to fly out on July
13 to feature against Hampshire two days later, but the festive season
in Bangladesh delayed some key paper work required for his travel.
Sussex
had previously signed Nuwan Kulasekara as a short-term replacement for
Mustafizur. The Sri Lanka pacer played in the games against Kent,
Middlesex and Glamorgan - the last of which took place on July 7.
