Jerome Taylor, West Indies fast bowler, has been left out of the
Barbados leg of the ongoing tri-nation One-Day International (ODI)
series, the team's cricket board announced on Saturday (June 18). The
board named no replacement for Taylor, leaving the team management a
squad of only 13 players to choose from for the remainder of the games.
Taylor,
31, played in each of West Indies' four fixtures across the Guyana and
the St. Kitts leg of the tournament, picking up two wickets at an
average of 79.50 and an economy rate of 6.91. In the Wednesday's defeat
to South Africa, the fast bowler leaked 72 runs from eight overs as a
Hashim Amla century powered South Africa to 343.
Heading
into the final stretch of the tournament, hosts West Indies find
themselves at the bottom of the points table, despite picking up as many
wins as Australia and South Africa - the two other teams in the
competition - due to their concession of bonus points. The teams will
play each other one more time before next Sunday's (June 26) final in
Barbados.
West Indies squad for Barbados leg:
Jason
Holder (c), Johnson Charles, Andre Fletcher, Darren Bravo, Marlon
Samuels, Denesh Ramdin, Kieron Pollard, Sulieman Benn, Carlos
Brathwaite, Johathan Carter, Sunil Narine, Ashley Nurse, Shannon
Gabriel.
